AAPD is pleased to invite abstracts for the 18th ICAAPD, a regional platform to share evidence, innovations, and best practices in preventive dentistry and dental public health.

Call for Abstracts

We welcome submissions from researchers, practitioners, policymakers, academics, and students whose work advances prevention-focused oral healthcare. Submissions may include clinical and laboratory research, educational approaches, community initiatives, health systems and policy work, and public health practice.

This conference is an opportunity to share your work, exchange knowledge, and contribute to strengthening preventive dentistry and community oral health across Asia and beyond.

Abstract submission portal opens mid-January 2026

Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted online via the official submission portal / email link (available by mid January 2026).
  • Maximum length: 250 words.
  • Language: English.
  • No images, tables, or figures may be included in the abstract.
  • Submission deadline: 15 May 2026.
  • Original research, systematic reviews & 3MT
  • structured as Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
  • Case reports / case series
  • structured as Background, Case Description, Conclusion / Clinical Lesson.

Presentation Formats

  • Accepted open-category abstracts may be scheduled as Oral, Poster, or non-competitive E-Poster presentations.
  • Presenters can indicate their preferred format (oral/poster) and whether they wish to join the competition.
  • The organising committee makes the final decision on format and competition status; non-competing abstracts will be presented as E-Posters.
  • Thesis-based submissions from undergraduate and postgraduate researchers are eligible for the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.

Review Process

  • All abstracts undergo peer review for scientific merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to preventive dentistry.
  • An initial acceptance letter will be issued within 4-6 weeks after abstract submission.
  • Final confirmation (presentation format and competition eligibility) will be issued by 15 July 2026.
  • Final confirmation will only be issued to presenters who have registered for the conference.

Eligibility & Publication

Publication in the International Journal of Oral Health

All accepted abstracts will be published as conference proceedings. Selected authors will be invited to develop their work into full-length papers for submission to the International Journal of Oral Health, subject to the journal’s peer-review and editorial decision processes.

Eligibility

  • Each participant may submit one abstract as presenting author, and may be listed as co-author on additional abstracts.
  • Each abstract must be unique; duplicate or substantially overlapping submissions will not be accepted.
  • All presenters must register for the conference; unregistered presenters’ abstracts will be removed from the programme and proceedings.

Student Verification

All student participants, including 3MT presenters, must upload a Letter of Confirmation from their university.

  • A standard template will be provided by the Organising Committee.
  • The letter must verify current student status.
  • It must confirm that the submitted project is officially recognised or endorsed by the faculty or university.
  • The letter must be signed by the Dean and stamped with the official institutional seal.
